Leni Digama

Leni Digama began his boxing journey at St. Britto's High School in Mapusa, Goa, and further honed his skills in the Indian Air Force, representing the Air Force in Inter-Services competitions. In 1974, he started training boxers in Panjim, Goa, organizing state tournaments before moving to Bahrain to pursue a hotel career. Upon returning to Goa in 1994, Lenny played a pivotal role in organizing several zonal and national championships, including one where Dingko Singh was awarded 'Best Boxer.' In 1995, he passed the Asian Referee Exam, eventually becoming one of India's esteemed International 3-Star Referees.

Throughout his career, Lenny served the Indian Amateur Boxing Federation (IABF) as Secretary and Chairman of the ROC Committee. He officiated at major events like the Afro-Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, and Asian Games. Notably, he was the Competition Director for the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi and the 2012 South Asian Federation Games in Meghalaya. After passing his International Technical Official Exam and Evaluator Exam in 2012, Lenny became an IBA Evaluator, officiating at numerous international events, including the Tokyo Olympics. In 2016, he was inducted into the prestigious IBA Referees and Judges Committee and became an IBA Instructor.

Despite being 70 years old, Lenny continues to mentor young referee and judge aspirants worldwide, guiding boxers, reviewing boxing rules, and officiating in domestic and international championships. One of his proudest moments was when his daughter, Danuska Da Gama, became the first female IBA International Technical Official (ITO), making them the first father-daughter ITO duo at IBA.

Dronacharya D. Chandralal

Our esteemed coach has an impressive array of accolades, including the prestigious Dronacharya Award in 2007 and the Olympian Suresh Babu Lifetime Achievement Award in 2021, bestowed by the Government of Kerala.

He has been recognized as the Best Coach in Kerala State in 2016 and in Karnataka State in 1988. His qualifications are equally distinguished, holding an NIS Diploma in Boxing Coaching and having completed the ICC-International Coaching Course in Boxing from the Hungarian University of Physical Education.

From 1986 to 1990, he served as the coach of the Karnataka State Boxing Team, overseeing Senior Men, Junior, and Sub Junior Nationals, and successfully producing many National Champions and medalists from the state. Following this, he coached the Kerala State Boxing Team from 1990 to 2008 and again from 2012 to 2018. Under his guidance, the Kerala team participated in numerous Nationals and six National Games held in Manipur, Punjab, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Jamshedpur, and Kerala.

Major Rehman Hussain (Rtd)

Major Rehman Hussain, a formidable scientific boxer, began his journey in the boxing ring at just ten years old at Military School. Known for his resilience and skill, he dominated the Karnataka boxing scene for four years and clinched the national championship title for three consecutive years. An alumnus of the prestigious National Defense Academy, Major Hussain managed the service boxing team (Army, Navy, and Airforce), leading them to national glory.

With a deep passion for mentoring, he continues to inspire and train the next generation of champions. His expertise in boxing technique, strength, and conditioning has guided many young boxers to national victories, fostering a community built on confidence and discipline. Major Hussain is dedicated to empowering aspiring boxers, helping them unlock their full potential through the art of boxing.

Sai Satiah N

Sai Satiah N

Sai Satiah.N is the current Secretary of the Karnataka Amateur Boxing Association, holding a BE in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA in Marketing. He is also an entrepreneur, running Xinergy Innovation, a leading distributor of advanced digital security systems in South India. His passion for boxing extends beyond business, as he was chosen to accompany the Indian boxing team to the 2024 Paris Olympics as a technical official.

His journey in boxing began under the mentorship of the late J. Sreedharan, a SAI coach who identified his potential as a boxer. Following his mentor's guidance, including adopting a vegan lifestyle, Sai rose to prominence, being selected as the captain for Karnataka in the 1999 Shimla Elite Men’s National Boxing Championship. His leadership and dedication led to his appointment as the acting secretary of the Karnataka Amateur Boxing Association in 2000, and he has since served in various key roles, including joint secretary and treasurer.

In 2019, Sai was unanimously elected as the Honorary Secretary of the Karnataka Amateur Boxing Association and later became the joint secretary for the Youth Commission of the Boxing Federation of India in 2021. He has also achieved significant milestones as a technical official, clearing the National Technical Official (NTO) exams in 2021 and the International Technical Official (ITO) exams during the Elite Women's World Boxing Championship in 2022, becoming the first from Karnataka to achieve these distinctions.

Mr. Ismail Hussain

He started training for boxing at the early age of 11 years this in turn has now become his profession. He was selected by Sports Authority of India ( SAI Hostel ) SAI, southern centre Kengeri Bangalore. He retained the Karnataka State Championship for many years consistently.

He has won 4 National Medals for Karnataka and his highest performance is achieving Silver Medal at The Nationals and being selected for Indian camp the same year of his winning. He was associated with SAI for over 6 years in hostel and a total of 15 years in boxing experience at State and National and All India invitation championships.

He is an NIS, National Institute of Sports qualified coach, Star 1 R/J Qualified Referee and Judge for BFI, Boxing Federation of India to Judge National championships.
